Use:
- Soups - fry chopped onion and garlic, add sweet and spicy pepper and bay leaf, cut potatoes, carrot and parsley, pour it all with broth and cook, then add pre-cooked barley groats, spelt, chickpea and beans, cook, thicken and season
- Groats kuba - pour groats, onion, dried mushrooms on a pan and pour with water, add salt and steam until soft, after the water is boiled out, add marjoram, crushed garlic and serve with sauerkraut
- Salad - mix cooked groats with tomatoes, leek, pepper, ruccola and parsley haulm, pour with butter milk with crushed garlic and salt, sprinkle with sunflower seeds
- Side dish - from groats, you can prepare an original side dish to meat or vegetables
- Hash browns - cooked and grounded groats are very sticky and therefore are a perfect base for hash rissoles or meat loaf
- Porridge - if you cook groats completely until soft, they can be prepared as a porridge, season as you wish to make it both sweet and salty
- Spread - overcook groats a little bit, roast onion, garlic, cumin with pepper and salt, take the pot away from the cooker and add dried nutritional yeast, mix groats with the mix prepared on the pan, add a little bit of mustard and blend, add water if necessary and mix chopped coriander and parsley in at the end of cooking
Before cooking, rinse groats in lukewarm water and then strain. Then pour groats with water, which should be at least four times more than groats. Leave groats to stand in the water for about 30 minutes, then start cooking. Groats will vecome much bigger in volume and softer as well. If you add groats to soup, sauce or hot vegetable dishes, always cook them separately before adding. Soups or meals could get bleary due to cooking together with groats.
