Description
Turmeric is suitable for the preparation of seasoning mixture. We recommend combining turmeric with pepper, chilli, cloves, fennel, coriander, pepper, garlic or mustard seeds. It tastes great in coconut milk based dishes, for example. Turmeric will also make an incredible marinades ingredient. As originally Asian seasoning, it can be combined with rice as well. Turmeric is commonly used to colour red lentil dishes. Vegetable that is very often coloured by turmeric is cauliflower and fried onion.
Turmeric is also sometimes called Indian saffron. It is dried milled turmeric plant roots with distinctive yellow colour. Turmeric plant is a plant similar to ginger that is well known to us. Turmeric has earthy taste, is a little bit bitter and its taste is similar to the one of mustard. Turmeric originally comes from south Asia and nowadays is produced most by India. In addition to its taste, turmeric may add desired yellow dye to dishes.
