Description
Barley malt syrup is one of the thickest syrups, and is also one of the least sweet. Use it wherever you would like to have its typical malt flavour. If you find the flavour to concentrated and not sweet enough, simply combine the barley malt syrup with some kind of neutral syrups, such as the agave syrup. Barley malt syrup also suits well in salted marinades and dressings - a great combination of barley malt syrup is with tamari or olive oil and mustard.
Barley malt syrup contains 2.5% fructose, 9% glucose and 39% maltose.
