It does not get sticky! You will not overcook the parboiled rice. It is plump and loose - ideal to vegetable soups or as an "al dente" side dish.
The peculiarity of this rice is that its grains are soaked and specially pre-steamed before peeling. During this process, nutrients are transferred from the rice´s skin directly into the rice grain. Thanks to this procedure, parboiled rice gets cooked faster, does not get overcooked and is not sticky. Its colour is slightly yellowish due to the steam treatment. However, it changes back to white after cooking.
It is primarily suitable as a side dish or as part of salads, to which it gives interesting taste, texture and added nutritional value.
