Use:
- Dainty - dried apricots taste delicious and therefore are a great choice when you are in a mood for a dainty
- Sweet baking - if you don´t have fresh fruit, don´t be afraid to add dried fruit into cakes, just be aware you need to adjust the recipe, since the dried fruit is much sweeter than the fresh ones
- Breakfast - you can add apricots into your porridge or home-made breakfast muesli
- Cookies - you can coat the apricots in marzipan or chocolate, you can also blend them with nuts, seeds and carob and coat the mixture in coconut
- Sauce -cook apricots in water and cut them into small pieces, then prepare a white roux, pour the apricot consommé over the roux, boil and add apricots, flavour with lemon, honey, pepper and salt. Suits perfectly to salty meals.
Fruit drying significantly contributes to its durability and can be used as an alternative to off-season fresh fruit. For better taste, apricots can be pre-soaked in warm water for half an hour before use.
